Buggyra ZM Racing is joining the GT Cup Series with a pair of Mercedes-AMG GT4 race cars. Behind the wheel will be not only 20-year-old Aliyyah Koloc, but also experienced racer Adam Lacko. Both will also take on mentoring roles, supporting the development of young drivers.
“We’re familiar with the GT Cup Series from previous years, and we know it offers competitive and high-quality racing,” said Buggyra’s Head of Communications, Jan Kalivoda.
One of the key figures in this year’s campaign will be Adam Lacko. The former European Truck Racing Champion continues his return to car racing. But his role won’t be limited to just driving—he’ll also be working closely with drivers from the Buggyra Academy, including talents like Filip Nedoma and Miroslav Mikeš.
“I don’t think about whether I miss the trucks. I’m a racer—I’ll drive anything with a steering wheel,” Lacko said about his return to GT racing. “Driving a GT car is like riding a bike or skiing. You never really forget it, you just need to brush up a bit. But I’m still learning, there’s always room for improvement.”
The team kicked off its preparations with a test at the Most circuit. The season is set to begin in mid-May at the Red Bull Ring. Buggyra will field two GT4 cars, with both Lacko and Koloc being joined by different co-drivers throughout the season.
